You won’t miss cookies if u never have one but once you have one and u like it im sure you want more! Im talking about me liking US. my friends might not miss it coz they have never been there and experience the life but I did and I know how it feels like! I have been to only 3 great countries where people wish to stay and immigrant; Canada, US and Australia. I compare a lot about each and I conclude or in my personal opinion US is my choice. It is not because the super power country, police of the world etc, but I see it from the “quality of life” that this county offers for me or perhaps my kids in the future.
The quality of life, there is so much better… im talking about very simple things I need for daily life such us things that makes easy in the kitchen ; wash disher, nice oven, good clean water, cheap groceries, cheap food / eating out, good shopping, very good transportation system , quick response of 911 or fire fighter, good sanitation, quick services (bank/post office/store), friendly people, good doctor, good education, etc etc so many good things!! you name it they’ve got it all.
No wonder there are not many American travel or move out of the country, why should you move if u have the best you could possibly get (if I were one I might do the same thing). Especially FREEDOM, freedom to do whatever you want…wear whateve you wish to wear, be whatever you want to be.. it is such a huge country and so much things to see…. i dream of working somewhere in LA or San Diego then whenever I want to go to east coast i just fly or visit my friends in Canada or take a week off to south America. There are so many countries around and they r pretty close… unlike Australia, it is far from everywhere except Indonesia.
The famous city of New York, beautiful beach in California, historical city of Boston, nice warm weather in Florida, Miami, Casino (im addicted to) in Vegas, Chicago, Hollywood, etc etc i want to see it all... not mention about the neighbor countries in south America and Canada.....
The food, oh I miss eating out cheap spicy chick wings and a dozen of cookies for $2,99. They have so many variety of food and they all delicious. the people I met are amazing and nice people especially my new family and friends in Boston and San diego… (Johny D keeps saying, they are the most amazing people he has ever met in his life, Shea’s family and friends). Yes the people does matter… lovely and amazing good heart people makes me want to stay.
I have never seen so many good, branded and nice cars in other countries other than US, beautiful house with big back and front yard like in East Coast (the house that I dream of), huge groceries store with giant size of fruit or vegetable like in US, the national wide festival like Halloween, thanksgiving or xmas, cheap liquor (wine/beer)… so much more!!!!
I have the choice and why can’t I choose. I do want to go back to US and live there for good
It is about the quality of life that a country offers and for me US is the promising land that I dream of…
im seeing it form my point of view whos's not American....i really wish i could go back.
i miss being in US
You are right. In America, we often take things for granted and do not realize how blessed we are. Thank you for reminding me to give thanks for the simple things.

I somehow stumbled upon your blog. I'm American and yeah it is nice in some ways but I think one thing you are missing is that for the vast majority of people living in America life is much harder than in Australia or Europe.
ReplyDeleteIn contrast to those places, healthcare is expensive and not guaranteed by the government, university and good private primary education is expensive, and you don't have as good a retirement situation. Also of course most Americans don't have as much vacation as Europeans or in Aus. It is also a lot easier to get fired or laid off in the US. So overall you just don't have the safety net as other places.
Just something to consider, you might not have noticed during your time in the US. It is nice to be really rich in the US, but for most other ppl life is harder than in Aus or Europe.
you are so true, i do relize it now. my American husband keeps explaining to me i just didnt understand. im lucky enough to live in Sydney with free health care n education. but im going back to US for visit for sure:)
