muslim Celebration in Oz

When you are somewhere abroad then someone asks "where r u from" the answer is always "Indonesia" but then when u r somewhere in Indonesia and someone asks "where are you from" then will be "Jambi" yes i always miss my country not the crazy traffic Jakarta or corrupt government but the people, the weather and the food. the people is all the matter... especially my family and friends. i miss speaking in my own language, eating Indonesia's street food which cost $1 and friendly smiles of my people.
Nov 6 (if I'm not mistaken) was happen to be the Idul Adha, one of Muslim big celebrations. i searched the mosque in Manly area and they have some nearby. i called and came for the pray. we had no car at the moment so i had to go myself by bus. up early and left home at around 6ish. i took my first bus to Dee why (area next to  Manly) $3.30 stopped half way coz i wasnt sure the location then i took my first taxi to the mosque. we prayed in the field (i guess there were too many people). unlike Worcester, USA most of the Muslim there were Arabic, Indian or middle east. Here in Sydney 99% of them are Indonesia. i was so surprise and happy. they all spoke in  Bahasa.. some of them are remind me of my grandma, mom and aunty... it was so nice to feel the sense of home. since it's so close to Indo, there are so many Indonesia in Sydney.
the preach was of course in English, short pray then breakfast. the mosque provided these meals for everyone, the food are all Indonesian Food; rendang, gado2, semur ayam, you name it everything we usually have at home during the celebration, they had it all... i was so excited and of course i ate alot. free Indonesian food!!
last weekend BJ took me to Asian market in Dee why, i bought a lot of stuffs spend almost $120 for random spices i might not need.. especially spicy one. i was so excited.... at least it will last for 3 months. now i can cook Indonesia spicy food everyday!!! u can move to a new place, meet new people, try different things but when it comes to food... only certains can satisfield your way:) i love spicy!

    I'm glad you got to be with people who speak your native language and eat your native food!!! That must have been nice for you!
    We all miss you here in America- I just looked at some photos from the summer of us making Whoopie Pies! Miss you!

    Happy that you found the Festival, and I'm sure Kevin and all of his friends are happy that you're cooking everyday!

Jambi Traditional wedding cloth hand painting One of the happiest days of my life… Yes the wedding went perfect like what I expected. Words can’t explain how I felt but I will try my best. Walk thru Harbour Bridge

My full time job just required me to come 4x a week, i had Friday off last week and Monday off this week so basically i had long weekend! which is great so i could have some times for my self and write this blog. well i did work on Saturday part time job but just for 3 hours making $26/hours extra $60 to pay my phone bill. I call my family alot lately as i miss them more and more, this month i spent $90 for my Vodafone! I wanted to go to Brisbane as  have never been there but perhaps sometime this month or next month.  i cant stuck like this doing nothing but work -eat and sleep. I always end up feeling exhausted at the end of the day and refuse to do anything but sit in the couch and watch TV or sleep. Yesterday i drove to Neutral bay 20  minutes from Manly to see my work mate Maureen, i also met her guy housemate and we had lunch. It was nice. Motherhood

Motherhood! I really enjoy being a mum, perhaps because my kids are young and I am  still in complete control of their life! their well being are depends on me as their mum. They said "Teach them what you wanted to learn when you were a little instead of give them what you wish to have" im not sure what I wanted or wish to learn. Perhaps Piano, I always wish I could be able to play any musical instruments or perhaps I wish I have the "people skill" how to deal with people as I was so shy. Most of those leaders aren't really the smartest but one thing they have in common is their skill of how to convincing or pursuing people!
