Manly, Sydney before Xmas and New Year

Life is repeat, that is exactly what happen now after we settle, wake up and go to bed early (at the same time). it is a good thing coz we have new body clock.. except for the weekend because parties always happen everywhere.

The last couple days were raining and cool, I slept with the heater on. summer is almost there.sometimes it is nice hot sunny day but sometimes it's  cloudy and rainy, cannot really predict the weather. Morning walk is always the best… especially along the Manly beach.. looking at the sunrise, blue ocean and wave..  im not the only one to do so, many people do exercise along the beach; jogging, surfing, yoga, walk their dog, biking… most of them who live in Manly and of course they can surf, even the kids and teenagers.. I’m so jealous, I wish I could..
I live 30 minutes from the city but i haven’t gone there that often… I’ve been there 3 or 4 times. One of my friends from Indonesia who lives in Perth came to visit. So I went to the city to see her and other friend. I went by myself took the ferry to the city for $6.60, beautiful view… Sydney harbor and opera house. i looked around and I realize “damn this is such a beautiful city” no wonder why there are so many people wants to move n live here. 555 bus free shuffle to George street (the main street)… I stopped before China town and walk to Darling harbor.. this famous harbor has big park and many nice restaurants. Packed with people and kids, they enjoyed the harbor and city view… beautiful… we spent couple hours there sat, talked, relaxed and enjoyed the view.
Darling harbor has this fireworks every Saturday in December before new year.. so many people come there and watch… I was one of them… 9.00pm they started fire the fireworks.. beautiful…. it was pretty awesome… Saturday night in Sydney is just  like any other big cities in the world… the lights, the street and bar full of people… girls are dress up to the max. high heels, mini skirt, sexy dress, full make up.. they fake it till they make it and it works.. they all looked so nice, pretty and fashionable, I like city life… so vivid and glamour with the lights.
I left the harbor at 10ish, caught the bus to circular qey to Manly. The last ferry to Manly is 12.30midnight, I really wanted to stay longer in the city and hang out with my friend but I didn’t want to miss the ferry. Last night was eclipse, full moon, Brazilian and France who live next door were having a party as always… they all went to the beach to watch the full moon.

Christmas is not really big thing here unlike US, they don’t really celebrate it Big… no xmas carol nor xmas tree of each house of xmas lights. In our neighbor there is only one house which decorated with the lights, the rest.. NO.. lol.. nothing special except they put one big xmas tree in Corso (main block for tourist in Manly) and in font of Manly council. Manly has this tradition where In December before xmas everyone dress like Santa. And it happened tonight… I walked to Corso and saw so many people dressed in red and white… hundreds of them… the bars were full with santa… looks like fun, I wish i joined. If I hv known I would have prepared the costume and dress like oneJ

You won’t miss cookies if u never have one but once you have one and u like it im sure you want more! Im talking about me liking US. my friends might not miss it coz they have never been there and experience the life but I did and I know how it feels like! I have been to only 3 great countries where people wish to stay and immigrant; Canada, US and Australia. I compare a lot about each and I conclude or in my personal opinion US is my choice. It is not because the super power country, police of the world etc, but I see it from the “quality of life” that this county offers for me or perhaps my kids in the future. The quality of life, there is so much better… im talking about very simple things I need for daily life such us things that makes easy in the kitchen ; wash disher, nice oven, good clean water, cheap groceries, cheap food / eating out, good shopping,   very good transportation system , quick response of 911 or fire fighter, good sanitation, quick services (bank/post office/stor

My Indo (Jambi) Wedding

Jambi Traditional wedding cloth hand painting One of the happiest days of my life… Yes the wedding went perfect like what I expected. Words can’t explain how I felt but I will try my best. Seems like everyone likes Yusuf Kevin (that’s what they called him). I really wish he could speak Bahasa, blame on me!! I was too lazy to teach him my language. On Saturday a day before the wedding, we visited my aunty, she offered Shea a place to stay but we refused, rejection isn’t polite here they expected you to always say Yes all the time. it is more to the culture thingy. We went back to the village… everyone was waiting and excited to see Bule (white/western) to take some pictures. Derek and Shea were like celebrity of the weekend. The kids followed wherever they went. Shea bought about 30 kids ice cream which cost only $5 they were all happy. Bless him. We stayed for a few hours and learn the Indo sentence for the marriage. Shea has to remember bahasa word “Aku terima nikahi
