Bangkok: #Market and Thai Massage

I woke up this morning with sore back and legs. why? Thai massage! I had my very first Thai massage last night. It was the best massage ever so far. Nothing can compare, not even Bali oil massage. I’m agree with everyone else who says Thai massage is the best… indeed it is!. Across the street from where we r staying, there is a local market, ah it’s Bangkok, market everywhere. we had our afternoon walk but found this market. Another shopping day, Shea bought a pair of shoes cheap cheap…. he turns to be shopaholic and has shopped a lot so far, in fact he bought more stuffs than I do, back in Jakarta he didn’t like to see me shopping but here he asks me “do you like it baby, buy it’ wow.. that’s my manJ. Hundred stalls… foods look delicious, i felt like I wanted to try it all.  So good so cheap, done with shopping then massage. In the same area there is a massage place for 250baht /2 hours it was so good, I enjoyed every minute of it, I felt like nothing to worry but enjoy my massage. She was a skinny girl but had power, she massaged every inch of my nerve, legs, back, hands with medium power (3 levels: soft, medium and strong but I chose medium). Best part was the stretching-oh I love it, they also gave us free drink and snack. there are so many massage parlors in Bangkok, any kind of massage… normal or dream massage. Haha yes we had normal one for sure, Dream massage is “massage ++” or body to body massage…
Last 2 nights, our friend Steve took us out to see the night life in Bangkok; he gave us some options but we requested normal bar (as you know there are so many up-normal places to see..opss), “Titaniun” is the bar somewhere in the downtown (I don’t remember where).  I’m an observer and of course I observedJ So we walked in, first thing I saw was a line of pretty Thai girls (their job is to company the guests), a bunch of tourist (all of them of course are white and middle aged), a good rock band,. Steve took us to the 2nd floor for ice cube, it’s a small freezing room ( -15 degrees ) for shot. The boys had vodka shot… it was freezing, I felt like In the freezer… Shea told me “this is what it feels like in Boston in Dec” yes I had experienced winter before and I hated it. we went back to second floor , I had gin and tonic, the band was excellent. A group of young Thai girls (I believe they are students) played a series of rock song. They were good, real good no wonder y the bar hired them. it was almost 1am, I couldn’t say much longer. We left Steve n ed, there were some taxis waited outside the bar, when we walked out they started to offer their taxi ride n of course they all were talking to me (who think I am Thai girl). Shea was wasted and slept in the taxi, first the taxi dropped us somewhere but we refused to step out then I showed my phone the address of our place then he got it. I paid him double meter, I didn’t care as long as we safe and got home. Most of the taxis here in Bangkok are good, unlike Jakarta. the driver started the meter from beginning when he knew he dropped us to the wrong address. He was nice guy and he deserved double tip.
ps: i have given up countiing/ writing the bill down...  coz we have spent so much lately especially in Bangkok, we r no longer backpacker but tourists on Vacation:)

My Indo (Jambi) Wedding

Jambi Traditional wedding cloth hand painting One of the happiest days of my life… Yes the wedding went perfect like what I expected. Words can’t explain how I felt but I will try my best. Seems like everyone likes Yusuf Kevin (that’s what they called him). I really wish he could speak Bahasa, blame on me!! I was too lazy to teach him my language. On Saturday a day before the wedding, we visited my aunty, she offered Shea a place to stay but we refused, rejection isn’t polite here they expected you to always say Yes all the time. it is more to the culture thingy. We went back to the village… everyone was waiting and excited to see Bule (white/western) to take some pictures. Derek and Shea were like celebrity of the weekend. The kids followed wherever they went. Shea bought about 30 kids ice cream which cost only $5 they were all happy. Bless him. We stayed for a few hours and learn the Indo sentence for the marriage. Shea has to remember bahasa word “Aku terima nikahi ...

Motherhood

Motherhood! I really enjoy being a mum, perhaps because my kids are young and I am  still in complete control of their life! their well being are depends on me as their mum. They said "Teach them what you wanted to learn when you were a little instead of give them what you wish to have" im not sure what I wanted or wish to learn. Perhaps Piano, I always wish I could be able to play any musical instruments or perhaps I wish I have the "people skill" how to deal with people as I was so shy. Most of those leaders aren't really the smartest but one thing they have in common is their skill of how to convincing or pursuing people! I know for sure the only precious thing I could give my kids is my time! playing and explaining thing. they are little so everything is new and there is always new exciting thing for them to know. like last week I told Zack we are going to have a walk to the hill next to little manly beach where there are little bunnies because...

Karen, Paul and Beando’s/ they came on Friday… the house became crowded but the more the merry… I’m glad I experienced real American family; live and interact with them. I’ve seen different people everyday, Shea keeps introducing me to new friends, cousin, uncles, 2 nd cousin, neighbors, etc…   I don’t even remember their name. the only one I remember is Wendy, nice neighbor who lives across the street. it’s part of experience I guess and this amazing trip.. the further you go t...
