Visiting family n friends before West Coast

The view frm th window

We are back to CapeCod to see Karen and Paul, I always love this place beautiful Wakeby lake behind Karen’s house very nice n quiet. last night we had a nice dinner at Shaw' house, Shea's good friends. Hull has been fun, Shea's birthday went well, chocolate cake for everyone... cribbage competation, games and more games with Beandos. I didn’t go to the beach much but stayed at home and read my new Kindle. Buying free classic books, I have been dreaming about Kindle since the first time I saw it 4 months ago in Cambodia, an old couple probably from US had it. n I think it’s cool, no more carrying books with me and save so much space in my luggage.

Shea' bday at beach house

Fasting (Ramadhan) in US is very tough one coz the day is longer than back home (it’s summer), a whole day without food n drink. But I still did it. Idul fitri is coming soon (it is like Christmas for Muslim), everyone back home) was asking if I will come home? I wish I could, just for 3 days and celebrate it with my family, the festival is big. Big feast, a lot of good food, new clothes, some people renovate-re-painted their house, buy new sofa, etc ..everyone is happy especially the kids… this is the time when I see my far relatives (aunts and uncles, cousins, 2nd cousins, 3rd cousins, etc )visit each other houses and ask for forgiveness. Im going to miss this moment! The food my grandma makes for special request, cookies and cake my mom n aunts makes…it is like a celebration to celebrate the glory after a month fasting ramadhan. The kids usually get ampau / money. This will be ON until a week or two…

Dinner with aunty Anne-Woncester
Anyway, I’m counting the days of our next departure, 9 days left. I have started to pack some of my stuffs. This is going to be sad… I love beach house. West coast is our next destination… more places to see for sure. I have adjusted well and started to settle down with the life here, I might have to adjust and re-adjust to the countries I’m in next. I’m glad I have this blog coz I can see the places I have visited during this trip…sometimes I forget how much fun I had. and I wish I could have done more! Never have enough when it comes to travelingJ. Sometimes I don’t realize that im in US until I see the flag, I feel like I belong here… I belong to any city I’m in I feel like I belong to the international community and it feels good.  no more homesick or feeling  awkward about new places and things I see. I’m getting used to it.

9 days left in east coast, will be busy visiting here and there, CapeCod –Hull beach house (spend more time with Mr. Shea and Beandos) then Woncester  to see Mrs. Shea, 95 years old aunty Anna and shea’s frends, then Rutland to see the Beandos (Dawn, Bill, Shea, Shaynan, John, Jake and Jill) our nieces and nephews.. then back to Woncester then Hull… then pack our stuffs then early Saturday morning 3rd of Sept we leave. That’s the plan!

i wish i could go back n live in US

You won’t miss cookies if u never have one but once you have one and u like it im sure you want more! Im talking about me liking US. my friends might not miss it coz they have never been there and experience the life but I did and I know how it feels like! I have been to only 3 great countries where people wish to stay and immigrant; Canada, US and Australia. I compare a lot about each and I conclude or in my personal opinion US is my choice. It is not because the super power country, police of the world etc, but I see it from the “quality of life” that this county offers for me or perhaps my kids in the future. The quality of life, there is so much better… im talking about very simple things I need for daily life such us things that makes easy in the kitchen ; wash disher, nice oven, good clean water, cheap groceries, cheap food / eating out, good shopping,   very good transportation system , quick response of 911 or fire fighter, good sanitation, quick services (bank/post office/stor

My Indo (Jambi) Wedding

Jambi Traditional wedding cloth hand painting One of the happiest days of my life… Yes the wedding went perfect like what I expected. Words can’t explain how I felt but I will try my best. Seems like everyone likes Yusuf Kevin (that’s what they called him). I really wish he could speak Bahasa, blame on me!! I was too lazy to teach him my language. On Saturday a day before the wedding, we visited my aunty, she offered Shea a place to stay but we refused, rejection isn’t polite here they expected you to always say Yes all the time. it is more to the culture thingy. We went back to the village… everyone was waiting and excited to see Bule (white/western) to take some pictures. Derek and Shea were like celebrity of the weekend. The kids followed wherever they went. Shea bought about 30 kids ice cream which cost only $5 they were all happy. Bless him. We stayed for a few hours and learn the Indo sentence for the marriage. Shea has to remember bahasa word “Aku terima nikahi
