Bangkok: #Counting the day of my next trip

I’m counting the days before our next trip, it will be a very long flight Bangkok-Tokyo-Lax-Boston. I do love traveling but I hate flying. My very first international flight was long time ago when I was 19 years old, more than 20 hours from Jkt- Singapore -south Korea – Vancouver. Anyway back to Bangkok, Soi Ladproa 62 at Greenery house is where we r staying. Shea’s good friend Steve has been living here for 4 years now. It is nice condominium with pool and gym. Most of the people who live here are tourists or expatriates who work in Bangkok, they are from France, England, Italy, America, etc. they all nice and friendly, since we have stayed here before, the management gave us good price for a nice and big room. The location is not in Khao San rd nor the tourist places but still easy to access since the transportation in this country is so much better than Jakarta, we have many options, MRT (train) is our favorite, so easy to get around and cheap for 35bath.
I know the fact that I’ve gained weight during this trip, all I wanted to do was eat eat and eat, especially in Bangkok, lots of delicious street foods, our place has free gym so first thing I do in the morning is working out and pool. It feels good, i feel healthier, it is such an addiction. No wonder y those people feel guilty/s'thing missing when they skip their work-out schedule. At least i have new routine.  Yesterday we went to MBK (one of the popular shopping centers in Bangkok). Everything is so cheap compares to Jakarta, good t-shirt for 99baht / $3. The foods r also delicious, we had dinner in the 5th fl “food bazar”, it’s funny thou, you can’t pay money but coupon so make sure to buy the coupon first. The foods were varied and all delicious. I had fried oyster and Pad Thai-I love it. the prices are vary from 40bath – 80 bath / $1.5 - $4. I noticed that there were so many tourists who shopped there. They were western, Indian and Malay. I also saw 2 big buses of Indonesian who just shopped.
We supposed to go to the weekend market today but Shea wanted to see his hockey game Boston Bruins. He has been talking about It for days. He prohibited me to see anything related to Hockey coz he wanted to see the re-play one (since he couldn’t see the “live” game). But I did see the score and I knew it already. I teased him not to come coz the result will be disappointed. He was very upset and I could see his mood/face changed. He begged me not to say anything until he saw it himself, right 7ish with 3 other friends we went to “sport corner” a sport bar which plays sport all day long. Shea watched it, enthusiasm, screaming, yelling, jumping, he just expressed however he felt. he was the loudest. First and second 20 minutes there were no score, he started to lose it!!… he thought his team would lose since I told him not to come but the last 7 minutes of the game his team made a score… OMG he was jumping around, screaming happily, hi-5 to everyone in the bar, hug the bar’s owner… he was crazy!! Goodness I just realized how important this hockey game for him.  Another one whole week with hockey I guess… .
ps: I don’t know how he does it but he has this amazing ability to make friends to talk to people and make them like him easily. Bless him.

My Indo (Jambi) Wedding

Jambi Traditional wedding cloth hand painting One of the happiest days of my life… Yes the wedding went perfect like what I expected. Words can’t explain how I felt but I will try my best. Seems like everyone likes Yusuf Kevin (that’s what they called him). I really wish he could speak Bahasa, blame on me!! I was too lazy to teach him my language. On Saturday a day before the wedding, we visited my aunty, she offered Shea a place to stay but we refused, rejection isn’t polite here they expected you to always say Yes all the time. it is more to the culture thingy. We went back to the village… everyone was waiting and excited to see Bule (white/western) to take some pictures. Derek and Shea were like celebrity of the weekend. The kids followed wherever they went. Shea bought about 30 kids ice cream which cost only $5 they were all happy. Bless him. We stayed for a few hours and learn the Indo sentence for the marriage. Shea has to remember bahasa word “Aku terima nikahi ...

Motherhood

Motherhood! I really enjoy being a mum, perhaps because my kids are young and I am  still in complete control of their life! their well being are depends on me as their mum. They said "Teach them what you wanted to learn when you were a little instead of give them what you wish to have" im not sure what I wanted or wish to learn. Perhaps Piano, I always wish I could be able to play any musical instruments or perhaps I wish I have the "people skill" how to deal with people as I was so shy. Most of those leaders aren't really the smartest but one thing they have in common is their skill of how to convincing or pursuing people! I know for sure the only precious thing I could give my kids is my time! playing and explaining thing. they are little so everything is new and there is always new exciting thing for them to know. like last week I told Zack we are going to have a walk to the hill next to little manly beach where there are little bunnies because...

Karen, Paul and Beando’s/ they came on Friday… the house became crowded but the more the merry… I’m glad I experienced real American family; live and interact with them. I’ve seen different people everyday, Shea keeps introducing me to new friends, cousin, uncles, 2 nd cousin, neighbors, etc…   I don’t even remember their name. the only one I remember is Wendy, nice neighbor who lives across the street. it’s part of experience I guess and this amazing trip.. the further you go t...
