Thailand #Day2

We packed our stuff and everything that we might not need and kept some clothes for Chang Mai, it’s in the North Thailand (I guess), we suppose to meet friends there but they will come end of the month and I don’t think we could. We only have 15 days VISA and our flight to US is first week of June. So we have to go out of the country and come back in order to get another 15 days VISA. Next destination is LAOS, but Chang Mai first. Shea’s best friend Steve lives in Bangkok for 4 years now and we have asked him way before we came that we will drop our big suitcases to his house.
Anyway, I wake up early lately I think my body clock gets used to it. As usual first think I do in the morning is drinking mineral water and blogging. I went to this cafĂ© called Gecko and had fruit salad for 30baht. It has wifi, great i got one more password. It was raining and I couldn’t go anywhere for a morning walk. Our plan was Laos’ embassy (apply for VISA) then Steve’s house dropping our bags and window shopping. I was excited. Shea then looked at the internet for the Visa, we just found out that American has to pay more than any countries. Since he has 2 passports, he will use his Australian passport so he only pay 1200baht (still a lot). I thought I don’t have to pay since im Asian but I do have to pay 400baht. Embassy charges more than the one in the border. So we decided not to come to the embassy. Next Steve’s house, we got a meter-taxi for 160baht (always go with meter because sometimes the driver charges certain prices and of course it’s more expensive than meter) Greenery house in Laproa 62, it was long ride but it cost us only $6 I can’t imagine what is the price would like in Jakarta. I’m guessing it would be $20 baht. Everything is cheap here. I just found out that Jakarta’s cost living is more expensive than Indochina-countries.
The Greenery’s house looks the same with nice swimming pool, I stayed there before (2 years ago) when I visited Thailand for the first time n I haven’t had enough with this city. In the future I definitely will come back. I love it here. such a peaceful country. We swam at the pool n read book, it was such a nice a relaxing day. We met old folks we knew from last time visit. Everyone was very nice and friendly. They r from different nation (England, German, America, Belgium, Dutch, etc) that’s what I love for being traveler, u get the chance to meet people from different countries and open your mind about outside world. Steve brought us to this Thai restaurant (forget the name), the food was delicious, spicy, Yum.. his friends also came to have dinner with us. It was nice dinner, we shared the food etc. me and Shea tried everything. one of Steve’s favorite food is morning glory, he explained to me what is it but I didn’t get it till I see it. when “the morning glory”came ,,, AHHHHH it was “kangkung” / water spinach, I cooked it a lot back home.  I finally got my perfect Tom yam without coconut milk. Apparently it has certain name for that kind of tom yam, steve’s friend speaks very good thai and he ordered it for me. Happy day!!.
We got back by taxi around 10ish, oh Goodness, it was the crazies taxi ride I have had in my life. First I thought everyone drove crazy but then after sitting in the taxi for 10 minutes then I realized it was our taxi driver drove crazy. He went from 80-100KM/hour, I felt like experiencing “Fast and Furious” but it was real. I asked steve’s friend who also came with us to Khao San rd “have u had this kinda taxi bfr” and he said “no”. Our taxi passed every car that he could possible pass zing around left and right. I was screaming… but the driver laughed at me. We finally made it “fiuhh. We walked around Khao San Rd for a while, there were so many tourist, the road packed with tourist. I bought my favorite food, grill squid for 30baht yumyum..i love squid. we r happy, now we can be real backpack without those heavy bags… Chang Mai is coming, another 12-14 hrs bus ride. My life is all about busses, train, plane, new hotel, new street, new people, new culture now. Everything is NEW for me. I can’t explain how excited I am. I would never ever forget this trip ever!!!.. I’m a lucky bitch (that’s what my friend Julia said) yes mam I AM. more trip to go.. and I’m so CANT wait.
Ps: I saw beautiful lady boys and guys everywhere... I really wanted to go to the “moon party” but maybe next time.

You won’t miss cookies if u never have one but once you have one and u like it im sure you want more! Im talking about me liking US. my friends might not miss it coz they have never been there and experience the life but I did and I know how it feels like! I have been to only 3 great countries where people wish to stay and immigrant; Canada, US and Australia. I compare a lot about each and I conclude or in my personal opinion US is my choice. It is not because the super power country, police of the world etc, but I see it from the “quality of life” that this county offers for me or perhaps my kids in the future. The quality of life, there is so much better… im talking about very simple things I need for daily life such us things that makes easy in the kitchen ; wash disher, nice oven, good clean water, cheap groceries, cheap food / eating out, good shopping,   very good transportation system , quick response of 911 or fire fighter, good sanitation, quick services (bank/post office/stor

My Indo (Jambi) Wedding

Jambi Traditional wedding cloth hand painting One of the happiest days of my life… Yes the wedding went perfect like what I expected. Words can’t explain how I felt but I will try my best. Seems like everyone likes Yusuf Kevin (that’s what they called him). I really wish he could speak Bahasa, blame on me!! I was too lazy to teach him my language. On Saturday a day before the wedding, we visited my aunty, she offered Shea a place to stay but we refused, rejection isn’t polite here they expected you to always say Yes all the time. it is more to the culture thingy. We went back to the village… everyone was waiting and excited to see Bule (white/western) to take some pictures. Derek and Shea were like celebrity of the weekend. The kids followed wherever they went. Shea bought about 30 kids ice cream which cost only $5 they were all happy. Bless him. We stayed for a few hours and learn the Indo sentence for the marriage. Shea has to remember bahasa word “Aku terima nikahi
