THAILAND…. (The bus ride, hotel and khao San Rd)

Another 10hrs bus ride from Siam Reap, Cambodia to Bangkok Thailand. We left Siam reap at 8.30ish, with 7 bags in total. I picked the first row right behind the driver. The bus from Siam Reap to the border took ages, it stopped here and there with 20km/hr so long. It took us 4 hrs which im sure it takes only 2hrs without stop and normal speed. We’ve been informed that we have to change the bus in the border, bus was full n some passengers had to sit in the middle with plastic chair. The road wasn’t good, things went slow so frustrated. We finally got to the border around 12ish. The bus stopped in the border and we had to drag our heavy bags to the immigration costumes for exit Visa, and from there we had to walk to Thailand’s immigration which was about a mile, MAN!!! It was long holes road with muds, again we dragged our heavy bags, walked all the way to immigration. I pushed my cheap suitcase too much till it broke. Yes the wheels brokeL in the border. Things got harder and harder, Shea tried to fix it but it didn’t work. OMG I hate travel days when we have to travel and switch buses, etc. it was long queue n again from the immigration's office to the bus we had to walk another long road… I was so frustrated till I couldn’t do much but laughing at myself and I know I’m going to look back to this day n find it funny. It was mini van, we got in with our 7 heavy bags, 10 minutes ride the bus stopped to have lunch and we have been informed that we had to switch bus AGAIAN!!!, it was 2.30ish, we both hungry, the bus dropped us to this thai’s restaurant, YES we were in Thailand already, at least we know thing goes faster here.
we ate leftover fajitas from sianreap’s last night dinner then ordered seafood fried rice with vegetable, oh it DELICIOUS so damn good, I could taste less MSG, the squid, shrimp, vegetables, etc it was probably the best seafood fried rice I have ever had so far, I put lot of chili.. all over the rice, real hot. I felt like home… so happy. It rained and we had to wait for another 40 minutes, then we got to this mini Van, yes we were about to go to Bangkok city, back to the civilization… the road was 10x better than in Cambodia, so smooth and the bus went so fast maybe 100km/hrs, I enjoyed my ride so much, I saw trees after trees, when we got closer to the city I saw many food stalls, it made me smile… I love thai street food, I love it so much, Tom yang soup, pad thai, spring roll, etc.. food, food I love food I love eating… just looked at the food stall made me happy.
We got into the city around 6ish, just like Jakarta with high buildings, people but thanks God it was less traffic and I remembered it was Saturday… yes it’s weekend. That’s explained why??? We got to Khao san road (backpack road) around 7ish, tourist, food stalls, restaurant, everywhere… the lights of the city bright my day after long trip. I was so excited.. Shea waited and watched the bags while me looking for guest house, I’ve visited most of the guest houses  and most of it were full, they didn’t really nice to me may be because I’m Asian, I was frustrated, I went back to Shea and explained him how they treated me badly. It was bad idea to send me to find the guest house and expected they would give lower prices just because im asian. it difinately didnt work!
Shea went by himself to find the guest house, less than 5 minutes he found it, the same guest house I went to whose owner told me they were full “bullsh#t” I hate them! Why they said it was full when I asked them (is it bcoz I’m Asian or I look like Thai) come on MAN!! Love your own people such a racist, anyway… no heart feeling, we got this small room with TV and Air con for 400 baht, yes it’s all about air conditioner coz it is very HOT here. dropped our bags then dinner, I was so hungry… i bought 3 spring roll for 25 baht and I went crazy with the chili, I put so much chili on it and it was so good and another bbq squid from th street.. it was so good!! Shea wanted to see his Irish friend Mick and his fiancĂ©, so we went to Khao san Rd, I had Tom yang soup. I didn’t feel well, maybe bcoz  the chili or maybe I was too hungry so I couldn’t finished my soup, i felt sick n went back to hotel, had long shower and right away crashed in to the bed. Shea went out drinking and got back to hotel very late in the morning, I didn’t know what was he doing, he said he was looking for his hockey game. he had been talking abt it since we were in Cambodia...

You won’t miss cookies if u never have one but once you have one and u like it im sure you want more! Im talking about me liking US. my friends might not miss it coz they have never been there and experience the life but I did and I know how it feels like! I have been to only 3 great countries where people wish to stay and immigrant; Canada, US and Australia. I compare a lot about each and I conclude or in my personal opinion US is my choice. It is not because the super power country, police of the world etc, but I see it from the “quality of life” that this county offers for me or perhaps my kids in the future. The quality of life, there is so much better… im talking about very simple things I need for daily life such us things that makes easy in the kitchen ; wash disher, nice oven, good clean water, cheap groceries, cheap food / eating out, good shopping,   very good transportation system , quick response of 911 or fire fighter, good sanitation, quick services (bank/post office/stor

My Indo (Jambi) Wedding

Jambi Traditional wedding cloth hand painting One of the happiest days of my life… Yes the wedding went perfect like what I expected. Words can’t explain how I felt but I will try my best. Seems like everyone likes Yusuf Kevin (that’s what they called him). I really wish he could speak Bahasa, blame on me!! I was too lazy to teach him my language. On Saturday a day before the wedding, we visited my aunty, she offered Shea a place to stay but we refused, rejection isn’t polite here they expected you to always say Yes all the time. it is more to the culture thingy. We went back to the village… everyone was waiting and excited to see Bule (white/western) to take some pictures. Derek and Shea were like celebrity of the weekend. The kids followed wherever they went. Shea bought about 30 kids ice cream which cost only $5 they were all happy. Bless him. We stayed for a few hours and learn the Indo sentence for the marriage. Shea has to remember bahasa word “Aku terima nikahi
